A: You do not have to go to the dealer. In Pennsylvania, they cannot deny your warranty if you go to an independent shop. In your owner’s manual that comes with your car, we can sign and attest that we followed the factory-recommended maintenance plan to give you peace of mind. At D’Avico’s, we will check with your dealer to see if they cover anything under their warranty, and if it is, we will take it there for you.
A: Generally, you must get an oil change every 3,500 miles for cars that use conventional oil and every 6,000 miles for ones that use synthetic oil. So, depending on your vehicle, an oil change service can be required anywhere from 3,500-6,000 miles. Oil changes are the cheapest and easiest maintenance task for your car. We recommend scheduling them as close to the factory-recommended interval as possible to keep your vehicle in the best condition possible.
A: At D’Avico’s, we are not the cheapest option, but neither are we the most expensive. Our oil changes cost between $35-$75 depending upon the make and model of your vehicle. Having said that, we pride ourselves on our expert servicing and thorough inspection of our vehicle during your oil change. We provide top-quality service at an affordable rate.
A: Most newer cars call for synthetic oil. Most older cars don’t. Synthetic oil lasts longer and is more durable, so it’s really worth the extra few dollars per quart. If you constantly run behind on scheduling your oil changes, synthetic oil may be a good option for you and your vehicle.
A: Before deciding if you should get a new car or keep your old one, we’d recommend doing a thorough inspection. At D’Avico’s, we do a multi-point inspection and consider past service records and the vehicle’s history. If we don’t know your car’s history, we will happily inspect it and give you our expert, honest opinion.
A: For most vehicles, windshield wiper blades require replacement every 6-12 months. However, replacement depends on various factors, such as weather, climate, and usage frequency. Inspect wiper blades during every oil change to ensure they function correctly and do not scratch or streak your windshield glass.
A: Water pump costs differ per vehicle. Sometimes, the timing belt requires replacement with the pump or a leaking or cracked radiator may be another issue. A technician must perform a thorough vehicle inspection to give you a definite answer. We want to start our relationship on the right foot, so we need to see your vehicle before we can accurately quote you a price for your specific needs.
